Hong Ning hosted its first charity golf day at the East Course of the Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club in Linksfield North, Johannesburg, on Sunday 05 June 2011. This fundraising event attracted strong support from both sponsors and golfers, with some residents from the Home arriving in the afternoon to enjoy some tea, cake and mahjong! Prize-giving dinner was a festive occasion inaugurated by the traditional Lion Dance. Prizes were handed out to the top twelve fourball teams and raffle draw winners in St George’s Room before guests settled down to an array of cocktail snacks and Chinese cuisine. Rice dumplings were also on the menu to commemorate the Dragon Boat Festival, which took place on Monday, 06 June 2011. Congratulations to the Singapore Airlines fourball team, who took first place at the Oriental Golf Day! The winners took home the trophy and a smart BMW sports bag each.
